We have a love-hate relationship with All-State. They have fair rates, disappearing deductible, and most of the time, we get good customer service when we call. However, over the six years weve been insured by them, despite no claims, our rates continue to go up. Also, multiple mistakes have been made on our renewals, weve gotten different information from different agents, and we almost always have to follow up after making changes to correct something. Overall, we are likely to stay because the rates are reflective of our driving records and its nice to be rewarded for being good drivers. Just wish service and advice were a bit more consistent.

I have waited 7 hours and counting trying to cancel my insurance. (2.5 hours, 3.5 hours, now over an hour) This is the most obnoxious company when it comes to customer service. I would not go with them again.Also charged me for August for a renewal in September on the 8th, received paperwork the 9th, if I knew I was going to pay twice in August I would have given notice earlier. Now Ive sold my car and cant end the contract.

My real estate agent recommended me this agency and to turned out to be my worst customer experience ever.It started with the beginning of both car and home insurances. Home insurance started the 11th of September 2020 whereas the condo closing date was the 4th of November 2020… They took me 2 months and they never wanted to refund it or extend it to November 2021.For the car insurance, I was covered by the ICBC until the 11th of January 2021. Car insurance started the 2nd of October 2020… They took me 3 months and they never wanted to refund it or extend it to January 2022.I dealt with James Smith just a couple of weeks before he left the company. He made mistakes, fine we all do, but at least I would expect his ex-colleagues to fix it but instead they just threw him under the bus saying he was in charge and they can’t do anything.So the next agent in charge was Danielle Dillman. She didn’t seem to care at all or to understand anything about the situation. I was also waiting for official papers in order to register my car with Access Nova Scotia and I had to find another agent there (Phil Booker) that finally mailed me what I needed just in time.Phil did good but when talking about refunding me, he told me his manager (Justin Hillier) didn’t want to.Finally, they stole me 412,66$… I won’t probably see that money agin and I have the feeling they made fun of me. So please, NEVER DEAL WITH THEM.

Called to change my address over to a new province on the 18th of Jan and they said they would call me if they have any issues in whether I will have coverage in the new province or not and yahs failed to do your job and call me so the 24th of Feb come and I call and see whats going on with my insurance and you guys yell me oh yah you werent covered from the 18 of Jan on .so then I became vicious because thats pretty sneaky and crooked of an insurance company to do to someone so then I cancel my services and yahs still continue to take feburarys payment out ....I wouldnt reccomend my worst enemie to get insurance threw you guys .. very unproffesial

Never dealt with a business that is so none responsive and totally irresponsible to messes that they create. Upon returning to NS from 12 years in the US - I chose Allstate to cover our vehicles and new home as my old insurance company no longer existed. Confusion, not reading information sent, incorrect quotes etc has resulted in our vehicle insurance STILL billed incorrectly after 3 months. The original agent no longer works for Allstate (not my doing but glad he is gone) to be followed by two others who were supposed to fix the billing error. Just got overcharged again. We are actively searching for a new company for both home and auto and by the sounds of things - this agency could care less. RUN from this agency!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Update - the billing issue has been finally resolved but I would still be very wary of this agency.

I must say dealing with Matthew was very pleasant. He was very friendly, courteous and knew what he was talking about. He made the entire shopping around for insurance task rather pleasant. Overall I was more then pleased with the service and will definitely recommend AllState to friends and family. The rates were also amazing. I ended up saving $1000+ from my previous broker.

I stopped in and talked to Matthew Dick, because my insurance company wanted a lot of money for full coverage on a new car.(the one I had wouldnt go forward anymore so I didnt have a choice in the matter. ) Matt made the switch easy and he got the best rate Ive ever had even with accidents on my driving record truly a miracle worker in he field! DO NOT deal with James Smith at Bedford Allstate. He is unprofessional and not responsive. I asked him dozens of times to send me insurance information for my house and cars and was told you will have it today and it NEVER came. I have dealt with many insurance providers all over Canada and he was by far the worst. This was very frustrating as I was trying to buy a house and needed the information for the closing. Save yourself time and deal with a professional who provides customer service.

James gave me a zingin deal on my insurance when I bought my first financed vehicle. Through them, I paid $60 less for full coverage than I did for PLPD. Hes always available to help me out with anything I may need. HIGHLY recommend him for anything insurance related!

Allstate is by far the worst insurance company that I have ever dealt with. I first got insurance with them while I was living with my parents. At the time Gerrie never really asked me any questions such as licence and insurance history. Shortly after that I moved out of my parents. When I moved out of my parents I had told Gerrie that and I updated my address with her. Eventually someone decided to have their broker give me a quote and I figured why not. As the broker was digging through information he discovered that Gerrie never did update my address and had me as still living with my parents. That meant that I was getting the living at home, multi vehicle, and multi product discounts when I wasnt entitled to them. Then he also discovered that she had me listed as licensed and insured for 11 years when I was only licenced for 5 years and insured for 4 years. To top it all off he even discovered that she even had the wrong lein holder listed on my policy. All of this created a several material change of risk and had anything happened I would not have been covered because of this. So that entire time I was essentially driving uninsured. I may as well have taken all of that money that I was paying in premiums and just flushed it down the toilet. This was a really scary experience for me. I am now done with these direct writers. From now on I am only buying insurance from a broker!

Probably couldn’t get less professional service. After being given the runaround for three days, I still wasn’t any further ahead. I gave up and went to Dartmouth Allstate instead. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize the Bedford agent was still going to receive his commission from me, or I would have went to a different insurance provider completely.
